Traveling Europe
Every spring break, thousands of young people migrate from their colleges to Florida or Mexico in the name of non-stop partying. But Ashley Nash-Hahn '08, who studied in Copenhagen last year, spent her two-week long break on the couches of people she met on the Internet, armed with nothing but her backpack and a couple of euros. Airplane Encounters
For me, a flight starts the second I step into an airport. I stand in a corner, waiting to go aboard, and watch people pass by. Airline stewards smile at me dressed in their neat uniforms with carefully chosen fragrances. Pilots with the brims of their hats shadowing their faces quickly walk by, leaving a handsome view of their backs. Frowning businessmen type on their HP laptops and talk loudly on their latest brand name phones. Young couples look over their shoulders to check on their dawdling children in the maze of shops.…
